The report was revised in June 2015 and it is briefing from the 'Alliance to Save Our Antibiotics' which is a coalition of health, medical, environmental and animal welfare groups campaigning to stop the overuse of antibiotics in animal farming.
The briefing reveals for the first time that medical use of antibiotics which are critically important in medicine (CIAs) is going down, but farm usage is going up. This is the first time these data trends are presented together. The alliance was founded by the Soil Association (certification body for organic food in the UK), Compassion in World Farming, and Sustain, and is supported by the Jeremy Coller Foundation.
