This list should be an orientation registering several usual and well-known T & CM - / CAM-therapies in Europe. It is actually not complete, and indeed, it never will be complete, because T & CM / CAM is developing itself by practicing and researching. The term “Traditional Medicine” (see under T ) is politically used by the WHO for natural healing systems. All kinds of diagnosis are not accounted.
The WHO defines traditional medicine and healing in its policy document "Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-2023" as follows:
Traditional medicine is used in some way, culturally embedded and transmitted, in many countries around the world. It embodies the sum of knowledge, skills and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences of different cultures. It is used to maintain health, prevent, diagnose, and improve and treat physical and mental illnesses, whether they can be explained or not."
