 Results

Complementary and alternative medicines (CAM), which are part of the intangible cultural heritage, are being increasingly called into question by different interest groups under the pretext of “consumer protection” or an alleged “unscientific approach” or “ineffectiveness”.

The participants of the symposium requested the creation of a European directory of all academic and non-academic health professionals and their associated requirements which will be compiled by the respective professional and medical associations. National characteristics should thereby be respected and a radical standardization avoided.

Controversial fields/ tasks
To draw up this directory would form the basis for a standardized evaluation of the training of health professionals all over Europe to ensure quality.
